PD Special Assignments
SPECIAL ASSIGNMENTS:
This year the CTEP Marketing Project is making professional development credit hours available to Teachers interested in participating in special assignments.
The first assignment requires you prepare lesson plans for the second course in the CTEP Marketing Model Program of Study, “Marketing Applications.”
Teachers interested in participating should contact Frank Vento at fvento@middlesexcc.edu
Frank will register you with Middlesex County College, give you a copy of the Course curriculum, provide you with a lesson plan template and provide you with your specific assignment. Teachers who participate and meet all program requirements will receive a certificate for 2.5 hours of Professional Development from Middlesex County College. (The first assignment is due on 10/26/2012 so contact Frank and register today!)
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
Our workshops will help Teachers, Administrators, Guidance Counselors, DECA Advisors and Post Secondary Educators understand the benefits of Career and Technical Education, resources to help improve student outcomes and best practices for curriculum development and implementation.

Professional Development HOURS
These workshops provide you with a great opportunity to obtain professional development certificates (2.5 hours of continued education at each special assignment).
This year there are four assignments for the first 2 courses in our Marketing Model Program of Study.
- The October assignment, due 10/26/2012, will be to create lesson plans for course 2.
- The December assignment, due 12/14/2012, will be to ensure Common Core Standards have been integrated into the lesson plans for course 1 and course 2.
- The March assignment, due 3/29/2013, will be to create rubrics for the lesson plan activities for course 1 and course 2.
- The May assignment, due 5/31/2013 will be to review and enhance the assessments for course 1 and course 2.
The assignments will ask teachers to provide Project-based unit exemplars that continue to build out the growing library of available teacher resources for each Career Pathway in the CTEP Marketing Model Program of Study. The first assignment will be due on October 26, 2012. The second assignment will be due on December 14, 2012. The third assignment will be due on March 29, 2013. The fourth and final Year 3 assignment will be due on May 31, 2013. On each of the four days that assignments are due, teachers will be required to submit/upload their 4 lesson plans for the Unit they were assigned. Teachers will also be invited to attend an online virtual meeting, facilitated by the Project Coordinator using WebEx®, where they will have an opportunity to review and discuss the products they created.
There are also four assignments for all the Career Pathway Exemplars. The October assignment, due 10/29/2012, will be to create rubrics and assessments for the Marketing Communications PBL exemplar. The December assignment, due 12/17/2012, will be to create rubrics and assessments for the Market Research PBL exemplar. The April assignment, due 4/1/2013, will be to create rubrics and assessments for the Merchandising PBL exemplar and the June assignment, due 6/3/2013 will be to create rubrics and assessments for the Professional Sales and Marketing PBL exemplar.
